According to a recent study, 86% of internal communication and HR professionals agree that a mobile app would be more effective than the tools they currently use. The trouble today’s communications and HR teams face is with the lack of innovation in the communication tools or methods they use, which leads to a low amount of enthusiasm among employees. Data from the survey showed that 89% of respondents most frequently use older forms of communication such as email, office intranet or e-newsletters.
Today’s communication professional is also having difficulty using the tools they have available to them – 97% of survey respondents said that they face challenges with the tools they currently use. Tools are outdated and make it challenging to reach all employees in the organization, especially those who do not work in corporate offices. It was also noted that integration was a challenge – too many tools don’t work together. All these issues create communication challenges for organizations across all industries.

The promise of mobile lies in the reality that almost everyone already uses mobile technology – 92% of respondents said that more than half of their employees had access to smartphones compared to 32% reporting that not all of their employees had access to a computer.
