The Current State of Employee Communications: 400+ Communicators Share Their Goals, Challenges, and the Tools Helping Them Succeed

Companies are making employee engagement a greater priority than ever before—yet they still can’t successfully measure whether their investment is delivering results.

These are just two of the key findings revealed in the 2019 Internal Communicator Index, our exclusive report on the state of internal communications across industries. We surveyed 400+ internal communicators at organizations of 1000+ employees to learn what challenges they face, how they’re grappling with a changing workplace, and what tools and strategies they are using to connect with employees.

The results revealed a number of surprising insights:

  • Investment in internal communications is growing rapidly, with 75% of respondents reporting spending more on employee engagement than they were two years ago.
  • The C-suite expects internal communications to build trust. Prevention of misinformation and rumors is a top priority for executive leadership.
  • Measuring employee engagement is still a struggle. 85% of respondents say that it’s a challenge to measure whether internal communications have a positive effect on employee engagement.

Find out what respondents considered their most important strategic priorities, how companies are allocating their resources, and how the right technology can fill in the gaps.
